As already some of you are aware I’m using Nightly – a Firefox x64 build, as my default Net browser. And I’m just answering to your default question – ‘Why do you use x64 browser instead of normal, x86 one ?‘:
– Well, as I like to arm my default browser in quite a huge amount of useful extensions, browse through hundreds tabs when I’m researching something, I need a lot amount of resources to run things smoothly, that’s why I’m using a browser which is designed to take advance on multiple core CPUs with 4+ GB of RAM.
But today I’ve got a very unpleasant surprise – Nightly just crashed in the middle of the session, and didn’t wanted to get up the whole day long… Even Crash-Reporter crashed. Everything just went ‘pooh!‘. That was quite a shock… well, it already happened second time in the whole history of me using x64 builds of FF, so I was kinda prepared. So, for the future record – if your Firefox would die, and would not want to be resurrected at all – do not panic -there’s a way to save all your extensions with settings, custom themes, custom toolbars, bookmarks, and in general – everything :D
